FUNCTIONS FAQ

  • There is no charge of room hire when the minimum spend is met by the cost of the food and drinks.

  • You are welcome to have a cake delivered on the day of your event only. We are unable to store items any earlier.

    Please be aware that there will be a cake charge if the kitchen are required to cut and serve the cake for you.

    $4.50 per person to serve slice and serve individually

    $2.50 per person to slice up and put on platters for guests to help themselves to with coffee

    No charge if the cake is to be served individually instead of our dessert included in the shared chef’s menu.

  • We do not offer BYO at ORSO

  • A minimum spend is required to exclusively book one of the dining areas in our venue. These spends vary depending on the time of day and day of the week, so please make sure to provide the date and time of your event (lunch or dinner) in your initial enquiry clearly so our Functions Coordinator can provide you an accurate quote for your event enquiry.

  • Menus are created at the beginning of each week depending on the produce and allocations available to the chefs that week, so we are unable to fully confirm any dishes prior to the week of your event.

    Our chefs are very happy to take into account any requests that you might have and will do their best to incorporate these when designing your menu.

  • We can provide either a simple Sugo Pasta, or a Chicken Cotoletta followed by a scoop of icecream for $30 per child (2 -12 years).

  • Our chefs are very good at catering to most dietary requirements, so please let us know of any dietaries, allergies or severe dislikes prior to the day of your event.

    Guests with dietary requirements will be provided with individual meal substitutions if they cannot eat what is placed out for the rest of the group to share.

  • Our wine lists change regularly, so approximately 10 days prior to your event, we will send you a beverage menu for you to select from to create your own personalised list for your event.

    Event organisers will be provided a copy of our curated functions beverage list and encouraged to choose 1 x sparkling wine, 2 x whites, 2 x reds as well as any beers, soft drinks, cocktails etc. to be offered to guests to drink at the event.

    The beverage menu will then be presented to guests on the day without prices attached, and all drinks consumed will be added to the final account as they are ordered.

    Set beverage packages can also be quoted and arranged on request. We have 3 beverage packages available that vary in cost. Please note the cost of each package is set, however the specific wines included (e.g. brands and vintages) will only be confirmed 10 days prior to an event.

  • All accounts are to be finalised on the conclusion of the event unless discussed and confirmed in writing prior to the event with our Functions Coordinator.

    We cannot provide separate accounts for large groups.

    We are unable to offer pay-as-you-go facilities for any events unless the event is booked in our Willmott’s bar.

  • Bookings for a private space or large table in the restaurant can only be tentatively held without a deposit for 24 hours. After this time, the booking may be released to the next enquiring customer.

    We work on a first-in, best-dressed basis when two or more booking requests/enquiries are received for exclusive use of the same space.

  • We understand that sometimes situations change last minute, and subsequently guest numbers and requirements may need to change too. If any changes to your booking are required between 3pm Friday night and 10am Sunday morning, please contact the restaurant directly by phone on 8364 1008, or email eat@orsokensington.com.au. Our functions email address is not monitored over the weekend.

  • Please note that chef’s menu pricing and exclusive use minimum spends are quoted at a premium rate during the month of December.

  • Car parking is available at the back of the restaurant, accessible via Eliza Lane. Alternatively, we recommend guests park on Sydenham Road (opposite side of Kensington Road) as Victoria Lane has 2 hour permit parking.

    Our car park is locked every night, and closed on public holidays. Parking in the restaurant’s rear car park is at the owner’s own risk and ORSO assumes no responsibility if cars are locked in or incur damage or theft while on the property.

  • An event will be charged for the final guest numbers that were confirmed with our Functions Coordinator.

    We understand that guest numbers may change due to unforeseen circumstances, and as such we are happy to be flexible and adjust our run sheets as required in the lead up to your event. If, however, a reduction in guest numbers is not advised to our front of house team until arrival - without prior notice - these guests will still be charged for on the final account.

  • 120 inch motorised screen.
    Epson EH-TW7100 Projector 16:9 with two built-in 10 watt stereo speakers.
    HDMI connection to connect your devices to the screen.
    An option to connect to the screen via Google Chromecast.
    Use of a portable laptop to plug in USB devices if required.
    Any other AV equipment will need to be hired in externally.

    All guests are asked to make sure the settings on their own devices are set up to connect to via HDMI or chromecast.
